Football team begins final preparations for World Cup

Ammon News - The national football team begins on Thursday the final stage of preparations for its historic participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada starting on June 11.

The Jordan Football Association (JFA) announced that the team will begin its final training camp on Thursday in Amman, where preparations will continue until May 28, before traveling to Switzerland to face the Swiss national team in a friendly match on May 31. The squad will then head to its training camp in the American city of San Diego from June 1 to June 10.

Jordan will also face Colombia on Sunday, June 7, at Snapdragon Stadium, before settling into its official tournament base camp in Portland, USA.

The Nashama are preparing for their first-ever appearance at the World Cup after being drawn into Group J alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

Through these training camps, the Jordan Football Association aims to provide all possible support to ensure the team delivers a performance worthy of Jordanian football on the global stage.

The 30-player squad includes:
Yazeed Abu Layla, Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Noor Bani Atiyah, Ahmad Juaidi, Abdullah Naseeb, Yazan Al-Arab, Hossam Abu Al-Dhahab, Mohammad Abu Al-Nadi, Saleem Obeid, Saad Al-Rousan, Ehsan Haddad, Ahmad Assaf, Anas Al-Badawi, Muhannad Abu Taha, Mohammad Abu Hashish, Mohammad Abu Ghosh, Ibrahim Saadeh, Amer Jamous, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Youssef Qashi, Rajaei Ayed, Mohammad Al-Daoud, Mahmoud Mardi, Mousa Al-Taamari, Ibrahim Sabra, Ouda Al-Fakhouri, Mohammad Abu Zreik, Ali Al-Ezayzeh, and Ali Olwan.
