Ammon News - Jordan issued a strong condemnation on Tuesday, following the abduction of an oil tanker from Yemeni territorial waters. The vessel, which was carrying several Egyptian sailors, was reportedly diverted to Somali territorial waters. The Kingdom characterized the incident as a flagrant violation of international law and a severe threat to the security of maritime navigation and global trade routes.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign expressed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt and the families of the abducted sailors. The Ministry emphasized the urgent necessity of ensuring the safety and security of the crew and called for immediate measures to secure their release. Jordan reiterated its stance against acts of piracy and maritime interference, noting that such developments jeopardize the stability of critical international shipping lanes.
