Ammon News - Thursday, February 18, marks the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in Jordan.
Grand Mufti of the Kingdom Ahmed Hasanat announced that Thursday will mark the first day of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH after the crescent moon was not sighted on Tuesday evening.
His Majesty King Abdullah II extended congratulations to the Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a post on X, His Majesty said, "We welcome the blessed month of Ramadan, asking Almighty God to make it a month of goodness and blessing for our dear homeland and for the Arab and Islamic nations. May God accept the acts of worship."
