Senate President, Bahraini Shura Chairperson Discuss Cooperation, Regional Issues

Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez met on Wednesday with Bahraini Shura Council Chairperson Ali Saleh and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting the Kingdom at the official invitation of the Senate, to discuss ways to enhance relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Fayez praised the high level of relations between the two countries, stressing that they are strong and deeply rooted, serving as a model for joint Arab action. He noted that His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, are keen to develop these relations.

He pointed to the ongoing coordination between Their Majesties on all matters that contribute to strengthening and consolidating ties and unifying positions on various issues facing the Arab nation.

He detailed Bahrain’s supportive stances towards Jordan and its backing of His Majesty King Abdullah II in efforts to achieve peace in the region and a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions. He also expressed appreciation for Manama's support for the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

For his part, Saleh said that Bahraini-Jordanian relations are not fleeting but deeply rooted in history, noting the ongoing coordination at various levels regarding shared issues. He underscored the importance of Arab cooperation, particularly in light of the conflicts the world is witnessing, which require a unified front working toward regional stability.
