Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Ministers and dignitaries scheduled to attend a scientific conference at Al Isra’ Private University to be held on Monday announced that they will withdraw from attending.
Some ministers justified their decision not to attend because of the generally tense atmosphere at the University, especially after the Dean of Humanities Department was shot on Sunday by a fellow professor there.
It is noted that the female dean was shot in the leg on Sunday by one of the professors fired from the college.
The University has been witnessing a tense atmosphere, culminating in the firing of over 60 professors over "prejudice" pretexts, a matter denied by the university administration.
Ammon News learned that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research will look into complaints filed by instructors and students over the conditions at the university and its abidance by university regulations.
