King, Crown Prince visit Royal Engineering Corps

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday visited the Directorate of the Royal Engineering Corps, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

His Majesty was briefed by the director of the Royal Engineering Corps on the directorate’s achievements in the areas of general engineering support, and the disposal of unexploded ordnance.

The director explained how the engineering cor deals with remnants of missiles and drones, as well as how it supports engineering efforts on the border.

The King, who was also accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, toured an exhibition featuring the engineering corps’ latest machinery, devices, and technical equipment, and viewed a model of defensive trenches developed recently to enhance the defensive capabilities of Border Guard units.

His Majesty was also briefed on the production capabilities of the Jubilee Defence Supplies Factory, which specialises in the production of barbed wire for border protection, in addition to supplying all JAF formations with their defence and military supplies.

The factory was established under the supervision of the Directorate of Housing Establishment and Military Works, through the Arabian International Construction and Contracting Company, which is owned by the JAF, in accordance with the highest international specifications and standards.

The King commended the engineering corps’ readiness, efficiency, developments, and adherence to the latest standards and practices.
