Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, and his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, discussed the recent escalation in regional tensions and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to restore stability.
In a phone call on Wednesday, the two ministers warned that the ongoing escalation poses a serious threat to the security and stability of the broader region. They stressed the urgency of joint regional and international action to contain the situation and prevent further deterioration.
Safadi and Hussein also reaffirmed the importance of returning to negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program as a step toward broader regional de-escalation.
The ministers reviewed preparations for their participation in the upcoming meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, which is scheduled to be held in Istanbul early next week.
