Ammon News - The unemployment rate in Jordan during the first quarter of this year stood at 21.3%, marking a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2024, when it was 21.4%, according to the Department of Statistics.
The department's quarterly report on employment and unemployment in the Kingdom, released on Monday, indicated that over the long term, unemployment has declined by 1.5 percentage points over three years compared to the same quarter in 2022.
The unemployment rate among males reached 18.6% during the first quarter of 2025, reflecting an increase of 1.2 percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate among females was 31.2% in the first quarter of 2025, a decrease of 3.5 percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2024.
Male unemployment rate rose by 0.4 percentage points, while the female rate dropped by 1.0 percentage point compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, the report showed.
