Ammon News - ​Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88, due to a cerebral stroke that led to a coma.

His funeral took place today, Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time (11:00 AM in Amman) in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City.

The funeral was attended by numerous global dignitaries, including His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania, U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Prince William, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Approximately 250,000 mourners had paid their respects during the three-day public viewing prior to the funeral.
