17-12-2025 11:29 AM

Ammon News - The national football team will take on Morocco on Thursday evening in the final of the 2025 Arab Cup, as the Nashama bid to secure the first major regional title in the team’s history.

The final will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at Lusail Stadium in Doha, following a strong tournament run that has positioned Jordan among the region’s standout performers.

Jordan have never previously lifted the Arab Cup trophy, nor reached the final, making Thursday’s encounter a landmark moment for the national side after a series of impressive displays throughout the competition.

The team will complete its final preparations on Wednesday under the guidance of head coach Jamal Sellami, who is expected to finalize the starting lineup for the historic showdown.

Jordan enter the final backed by strong official and public support, with large numbers of Jordanian fans in Qatar expected to attend, providing a significant morale boost.

The Nashama reached the final after finishing top of Group C with a perfect nine points, recording victories over the United Arab Emirates (2–1), Kuwait (3–1) and Egypt (3–0). The team then edged past Iraq (1–0) in the quarterfinals before defeating Saudi Arabia (1–0) in the semifinals.

By advancing to the final, Jordan have already secured approximately $4 million in prize money, a figure that would rise to about $7 million should they claim the title. The total prize pool for the 2025 Arab Cup stands at around $36 million. Petra
