His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday in Berlin, held a meeting with representatives from German government economic institutions and private companies to explore opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between Jordan and Germany.
The discussions focused on investment prospects in areas of mutual interest, including green energy, financial services, science, engineering, technology, agriculture, and food processing.
The King emphasized the strategic importance of the relationship between the two nations and the need to build upon their strong partnership. He noted that Jordan continues to advance political, economic, and administrative modernization despite regional challenges.
His Majesty pointed out that Jordan's skilled workforce, progressive legislation, and favorable infrastructure for economic growth make the country an attractive destination for investment and job creation.
He further highlighted Jordan's commitment to achieving economic growth, even in the face of regional challenges, through a robust banking sector, sound fiscal policies, state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, and comprehensive reforms, all of which have improved the Kingdom's performance in global credit ratings.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of German Industries, the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as several major companies and banks.
The attendees discussed opportunities to increase investment and collaboration with Jordan in sectors such as energy, technology, agriculture, and financial services.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of His Majesty's Office Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan's Ambassador to Germany Fayez Khouri were also present at the meeting.
Before this meeting, the King had a discussion with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck, where they explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
