Ammon News - Mexico has started implementing its decision to ban the sale of fast food in schools, as part of the country's efforts to combat one of the worst rates of obesity and diabetes in the world.



The health guidelines, first published last fall, directly target processed, salty, and sugary products that have become an integral part of the lives of generations of Mexican children. These include sugary beverages like fruit juices, packaged potato chips, artificial pork chips, and soy-coated peanuts with chili flavor.

The Mexican Ministry of Education has encouraged parents to support the government's campaign by preparing healthy meals for their children.

The ministry announced on the "X" platform the enforcement of the law, saying: "Goodbye to fast food!"

Under the new system in Mexico, schools must eliminate any food or drink that carries even a single warning label indicating high levels of salt, sugar, calories, or fat.
