98.3% Growth in Overnight Tourists and Day Visitors from African Countries Over Two Months

Ammon News - The number of overnight tourists and day visitors from African countries reached 11,895 people during the months of January and February, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The data shows that the number of overnight tourists was 9,591, while the number of day visitors was 2,304, totaling 11,895 people.

Official figures indicate that in the same period last year (January, February), the number of overnight tourists was 5,567, while day visitors totaled 432, bringing the total to 5,999 people from African countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, and Nigeria.

Compared to the same period in 2024 and 2025, the number of overnight tourists and day visitors from African countries grew by 98.3%.

Preliminary data from the Central Bank earlier indicated that tourism income during the first two months of 2025 rose by 16.3%, reaching 1,283.8 million dollars, compared to the same period in 2024.

This increase is attributed to an 18.5% rise in the number of tourists. The data shows an increase in tourism income from all nationalities, including expatriate Jordanians by 12.0%, Arabs by 16.7%, Europeans by 4.6%, Americans by 14.6%, and other nationalities by 42.5%.
