Ammon News - The Ministry of Justice is gradually developing its tasks assigned by automating its services and established new palaces of justice to keep pace with societal and population development.

The ministry is currently performing specific and clear tasks to provide logistical and technical services to the judiciary, draw up modern policies and legislative frameworks and secure legal support, cooperate with local and international bodies, protect human rights, and preserve public funds.

During 2024, the ministry conducted about 138,612 remote trials, aimed to accelerate procedures for sending inmates to the courts to hear their testimonies.

In a statement, the ministry also installed and distributed video communication devices for remote trials in 25 halls, which benefited 9 additional halls in the courts of first instance and 16 additional others in the correctional and rehabilitation centers.

The ministry has implemented approximately 3693 alternative penalties.

In 2024, the ministry installed about 149 e-bracelets, aimed to cut the financial burden on inmates in Jordan's correctional and rehabilitation centers, reduce the number of detainees, slash the government's financial costs, develop the Kingdom's criminal justice system and avoid detainees' interaction with convicts to preserve their livelihood sources.

During the same year, the ministry conducted about 6,955 e-auctions, aimed to enhance the principle of transparency and integrity by reaching the "largest" number of bidders and collect the "highest" price for properties offered for sale within public auction to preserve the civilians' rights.

Additionally, a total of about 2,489 legal aid requests were submitted, aimed to offer legal representation before the Kingdom's various courts, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation.

The ministry issued about 49,5747 certificates of non-criminal record, including 35, 804 in English.

At the end of last year, the ministry announced the pilot launch of its new e-services website, aimed to improve many services for inquiry-related, civil litigation, Administrative Court, civil enforcement, courts, legal aid, e-payment and notary public.
