A man in his 60s fatally shot his son, in his 20s, and injured his wife in the Tafah area of Zarqa Governorate, according to a security source.

The source told Ammon that a man in his 60s fired shots at his wife and son following family disputes in his home in the Tafah area.

The injured woman were taken to Zarqa Governmental Hospital, where the son died in the operating room, while it turned out that the wife had been shot in the leg, the source added, indicating that the man fled and an extensive investigation was opened into the incident.

Later, Authorities apprehended a man in Zarqa on Monday for allegedly opening fire on his wife and son, injuring the former and fatally wounding the latter.

The wife was transported to Zarqa Governmental Hospital, where medical personnel described her condition as moderate.

A spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate underscored that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, which occurred on Sunday evening.
