Ammon News - Since the beginning of this year, the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization has closed fuel supply pumps in (11) stations, confiscated (7) meters on tankers, and transferred (19) stations and fuel distribution tanks to the Attorney General for violations of standards and metrology laws.
The company verified that they will keep conducting morning and evening inspections during official holidays in all regions of the Kingdom, due to the rise in demand during winter.
The company stated that its inspectors checked almost 20,000 fuel pumps across different regions in over 2,000 stations from the start of the year to the end of last October, through both surprise and regular inspection visits.
The Corporation stated that its tours still regularly perform inspections on gas cylinders to guarantee their safety and security during usage. They checked 7,863 domestic gas cylinders at 423 locations, including agencies, warehouses, and gas vehicles. Additionally, they confirmed the accuracy and integrity of 1,478 meters on diesel distribution tanks for homes and facilities.
The company urged customers to purchase diesel from the station they are affiliated with, checking the distributor's identity, tank number, and station name before filling up. Customers should also confirm the presence of seals on the tank meter and ensure the driver has a valid fuel tanker measurement system certificate. Additionally, customers should make sure the meter is reset and the hose is full of diesel before starting to fill up.
The Corporation emphasized the need to verify the credibility of offers from parties offering home diesel filling services, warning against falling for fake offers from manipulators of quantities and meters. It stated that it is collaborating with the Energy Regulatory Commission and marketing companies to crack down on impersonators, with assistance from the Public Security Directorate to apprehend and prosecute violators. The Corporation stated that it has received (319) complaints from the start of the year until October's end, encouraging individuals to contact them if unsure about product conformity via the unified complaints phone and WhatsApp (065301243), social media pages, website (www.jsmo.gov.jo), or the At Your Service platform.
