Jordan is participating in the Arab and Islamic summit with a large official delegation, and the joint Arab-Islamic summit called for by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes at a sensitive time, amid the escalation of Israeli aggression on the Palestinian territories and Lebanon and the increase in regional tensions.

Jordan's participation in this summit reflects a pivotal strategic position based on its regional position and its firm positions on Arab and Islamic issues. What are the dimensions of the Jordanian role in this meeting? And how does Jordan seek to enhance regional stability through this participation?

Jordan's participation comes primarily from its pivotal and steadfast role in defending the Palestinian cause as a pillar of Jordanian national security. The Palestinian cause represents the cornerstone of Jordanian foreign policy, as Jordan is historically, geographically and demographically linked to Palestine. Continuing Jordanian support for Palestinian rights, especially in light of the Israeli escalation, is an integral part of Jordan's internal stability and national security, as any escalation in the Palestinian territories directly affects the internal situation in Jordan, which hosts a large number of Palestinian refugees and is considered one of the most prominent defenders of their rights on the international scene.

In this context, Jordan's participation in the summit reinforces its steadfast position towards protecting Jerusalem and the Islamic and Christian holy sites there, as Jordan assumes Hashemite guardianship over these holy sites.

It is expected that Jordan will call for taking strict decisions condemning the Israeli aggression and urging the international community to act to stop it, emphasizing the need to find a comprehensive and permanent solution to the Palestinian issue.

In order to strengthen regional and international alliances to confront challenges, Jordanian foreign policy seeks to build strong alliances at the Arab and Islamic levels, as Jordan represents a bridge between many international powers and regional parties.

The holding of the summit in Saudi Arabia provides an opportunity for Jordan to strengthen these alliances, especially with the Gulf states, which constitute a strategic partnership for Jordan in confronting security and economic challenges. Jordan is expected to exploit this meeting to deepen security and diplomatic cooperation with the Gulf states and Islamic countries, which will contribute to protecting the stability of the region and strengthening the common front against Israeli interventions.

In light of the growing crises in the region, Jordan sees the importance of this summit as a forum for dialogue and coordination. Its diplomatic role comes in building a common vision to confront Israeli aggression and to mitigate the severity of regional crises that are increasing in intensity, including the situation in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon.

Jordan seeks to push the summit towards adopting practical steps that ensure the sustainability of peace and enhance solidarity among participating countries.

Given Jordan's weighty position and its role in balancing relations with international powers, as it enjoys close relations with many international powers, including the United States and the European Union, its participation in this summit is evidence of its balanced management of international relations.

While Jordan strengthens its positions in support of Arab and Islamic issues, it also maintains strong connections with the international community, which enables it to present the Palestinian cause and issues of regional stability on the international stage in ways that guarantee support and backing.

The Jordanian vision for the future of regional security is that the stability of the region is a collective responsibility that requires constructive dialogue and bold decisions that go beyond narrow political calculations. Jordan seeks, through its participation in this summit, to promote initiatives that support regional peace and condemn all forms of extremism and violence.

Jordan also hopes that the summit will lead to decisions that ensure the protection of Arab and Islamic countries from any external threats, support the values that unite them and unify their positions before the world.
