Egypt joins international call to halt the export of weapons to Israel

Ammon News - Egypt has declared its participation in a letter to the UN Secretary-General, the Security Council President, and the General Assembly President. The letter calls for a stop to the sale of weapons to Israel that could harm Palestinians in areas like East Jerusalem.

52 countries, along with the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, backed this letter.

Egypt stated today through its Foreign Ministry its commitment to being involved in the main group that has pushed for countries to sign this letter. This action is part of global efforts to urge Israel to cease violating international laws and provide protection to the Palestinian people.

The letter urged the Security Council to fulfill its responsibility in promoting global peace and security, and to implement effective actions to safeguard civilians and uphold accountability.
