Minister of Labor: Stringent inspection drives to regulate foreign workers in the labor market

Minister of Labor Khaled Al-Bakkar has opted to implement a series of regulatory measures for non-Jordanian employees in order to streamline and make it easier for employers across different industries and economic sectors.

Al-Bakkar clarified that the purpose of these regulations is to allow different economic sectors to utilize foreign workers in Jordan legally, ensuring they adhere to Labor Law and related regulations.

The Minister stated that the procedures he implemented will remain valid until the end of this year 12/31/2024. He emphasized that ministry inspection teams will conduct thorough inspections to monitor non-Jordanian workers who are working in violation of Labor Law and related regulations.

Al-Bakkar reaffirmed that there will be no exemptions from paying work permit fees and fines for late renewal of expired work permits in the regulatory procedures.

He clarified that the regulatory actions address the employment of unauthorized foreign workers within Jordan, the procedures for transferring a foreign worker between employers, and the renewal of expired work permits. The Minister urged private sector employers and non-Jordanian workers to check out the specific regulations and the industries benefiting from them on the Ministry's website and social media, or by going to labor directorates in the capital and governorates.
