Ammon News - Martin Frick, director of the World Food Programme in Berlin, stated to German media that the programme cannot serve as a replacement for UNRWA in Gaza.
Frick stated on Saturday that UNRWA's crucial tasks in Gaza, like overseeing emergency shelters, schools, and health centers, cannot be handled by us.
A few days ago, the Israeli Knesset approved two draft laws to limit the agency's activities in the Gaza Strip.
Frick stated that UNRWA is crucial for providing humanitarian assistance in Gaza, supporting residents facing dire conditions with essential services like nutrition, protection, and medical care.
Frick stated that the situation in the Gaza Strip is beyond imagination and needs a thorough solution with UNRWA at the forefront. He emphasized that removing UNRWA would leave those in need without their only source of support.
