Ammon News - Libraries and Information Institutions in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Conference, organized by the Jordan Libraries and Information Association (JLIA), is scheduled to kick off next Wednesday.
Held in cooperation with the Public Libraries Department in Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), the 2-day conference will discuss developments in library science, information sources, readers and researchers' benefit from the "tremendous" technological development and impact on future libraries.
The event, which will see "broad" Arab participation, will go over multiple new issues, primarily a research paper from Tunisia on Arab film libraries in the AI age, practices of medical libraries by researchers from Oman, and future and role of university libraries in Jordan in the AI era.
The GAM Executive Director of Culture, Dr. Thamer Shoubaki, said the municipality has hosted this conference for years, based on the importance of the library role in disseminating culture and knowledge, as a "key and reliable" reference for all researchers in various science fields.
In a statement, the JLIA said the conference's scientific committee, headed by Dr. Rabhi Alian, received more than 25 scientific research papers, 20 of which were approved for presentation after review and arbitration.
The JLIA added that the event features 4 sessions, each of which will discuss 5 scientific papers.
