Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli bombing of a school sheltering displaced persons west of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, which led to numerous deaths and injuries.
The ministry labeled the attack a flagrant violation of international law and an escalation in the systematic targeting of civilians and shelters for the displaced.
Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah affirmed Jordan's unequivocal condemnation of Israel's ongoing violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War.
He underscored the absence of a decisive international stance to curb Israeli aggression and compel respect for international law. He called for an immediate halt to the aggression on Gaza, which has caused widespread destruction, loss of life, and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
Qudah stressed the urgent need for the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities by immediately stopping Israeli aggression in Gaza, ensuring the protection of the Palestinian people, and holding those responsible for violations of international law accountable.
