Fils Al-Reef powered 32,270 homes worth JD86mln from 2011-2023-Ministry

Ammon News - Fils Al-Reef, a fee added to each kilowatt a household uses, contributed to deliver electricity to 32,270 homes countrywide at a financial cost estimated at about JD86 million from 2011 until 2023.
The beneficiaries included individual homes and residential complexes consisting of 3 homes or more, located outside the Kingdom's municipal regulatory boundaries.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Wednesday, the ministry successfully implemented multiple projects aimed at delivering electricity to Jordan's villages and rural communities and expanding beneficiaries of Fils Al-Reef project to reach 12 diverse segments.
The statement said a total of 9 solar systems were installed to pump artesian well water at the expense of Fils Al-Reef project at a cost of JD156,575.
Furthermore, a total of 122 households benefited from the project to install solar energy systems, which are not connected to the Kingdom's electricity grid for the category of underprivileged individual families, at a cost of JD633,767.
7,380 households benefited from the project to install solar energy systems connected to the electrical networks for homes of poor families and beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund (NAF) at the expense of Fils Al-Reef, the statement pointed out.
In this regard, the capacity didn't exceed 2 kilowatts/peak, as the project was implemented in 4 stages in the Kingdom's various governorates at a cost of about JD7.7 million.
Regarding support for Jordan's tourism and production sector, projects were implemented to provide electricity to 18 tourist and production sites at a cost of JD5.7 million and assistance was delivered to 9 agricultural projects at a cost of JD626,252. Petra
