Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the United Kingdom’s announcement to suspend arms export licenses to the Israeli occupation, used in the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, as an important step to ensure the protection of civilians.

The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, stressed that the UK’s announcement was a step consistent with the resolutions issued by the UN Security Council and General Assembly, the decisions of the International Court of Justice, and all relevant resolutions that stressed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and the unprecedented suffering and humanitarian disaster it is causing, and the need to continue to provide sufficient and sustainable aid to all parts of the Strip, and to ensure the protection of civilians, civilian objects, and the protection of UN headquarters and employees and relief workers.

Qudah also stressed that this announcement comes within the framework of supporting the efforts made by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt to reach an exchange deal that guarantees a permanent ceasefire and ensures the entry of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid into the sector.
