Ammon News - Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh received on Monday at the Prime Ministry a delegation of assistants to members of the US Congress.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation Nasser Shraideh and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Touqan.
During the meeting, Khasawneh stressed that His Majesty King Abdullah II, since the first day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, has been leading an intensive and continuous effort to reach an immediate and permanent cessation of the Israeli aggression and to secure the comprehensive and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to our brothers in Gaza, stressing that the two-state solution is the only solution to end the conflict in the region and achieve security, stability and prosperity for the countries of the region and their peoples.
Regarding the tension and escalation in the region, Khasawneh stressed that Jordan will not allow any party to use or violate its airspace and endanger its security and the safety of its citizens, and will confront any attempts in the context.
On the bilateral relations front, the Prime Minister stressed the depth of the friendship and strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, which this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation for the assistance provided by the United States to Jordan, appreciating the positions of the US administration and Congress in support of Jordan's development and economic efforts, plans and programmes.
The delegation members also expressed their appreciation for the important role played by Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in the region and in enhancing the chances of peace and stability there.
A dialogue took place during which the Prime Minister answered questions and inquiries from the delegation members regarding a number of issues on the local and regional arenas.
