Ammon News - A delivery driver who rescued an unconscious mum has been called "a hero" online after helping a young child's unconscious mum.
The Amazon driver - identified as Brian from Galway - is being praised for his quick action when a 6-year-old approached him in the rain while he was delivering a package.
Speaking to Today FM's Ray Foley about the incident, he said, "It was lashing rain and I was shocked that the child came out in the rain like that to meet me.
"When he said something to me I didn't really have time to think, I just acted, you know."
In video footage captured on a doorbell camera, the child can be seen approaching Bryan to ask if he can help his mum who fainted.
He can be seen opening the gate and rushing into the house, and a short time later he calls emergency services.
Bryan said he stayed on the phone with them for 30 minutes as they advised him on how to help her.
He said, "When I went in I didn't know what to expect to be honest. Her eyes were going a million miles an hour, she'd taken a fit or a seizure."
He told Foley he asked the kids to go outside "for a few minutes" to give them some distance from the scene.
He confirmed the mother has been in touch with him since the incident and she is okay.
He said, "We've been in contact, her name is Elizabeth."
Foley congratulated him for his actions and he was commended for his "amazing composure".
Hundreds of commenters were also impressed with his quick response, with one Facebook user commenting, "He deserves a reward and a pay rise!"
