JAF thwarts Captagon smuggling attempt via projectile from Syria

Ammon News - The Northern Military Zone on Thursday thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances via a flying object (projectile) loaded with the narcotic Captagon coming from Syrian territory, according to an official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)- the Arab Army.

Border Guard forces in the Northern Military Zone detected an attempt by a flying object to illegally cross the border from Syrian territory to Jordanian territory, the source said.

The source also added that the rules of engagement were applied, and it was shot down inside Jordanian territory.

The source added that the object was carrying 4 bags of narcotic substances containing 3,990 Captagon pills, and the seized items were transferred to the competent authorities.

In addition, the source affirmed that the JAF will always exert their utmost efforts to counter whoever threatens to harm Jordan's security and its citizens.
