Moderate weather on Wednesday, hot air mass on Thursday

Ammon News - Hot weather is forecast for Wednesday, with temperatures set to soar even higher on Thursday, bringing sweltering conditions to much of the Kingdom. Expect moderate clouds in the east and a northwesterly breeze that will pick up at times.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, a surface thermal depression will push temperatures up 3-4 degrees Celsius above normal on Thursday. The heatwave will scorch most areas, with the desert, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba enduring the brunt of the extreme heat. Winds from the northwest will be moderate, turning gusty at intervals.

Friday will offer no respite, as the heatwave persists across the Kingdom. The desert, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to sizzle under very high temperatures. Northwesterly winds will remain moderate but will gust occasionally.

By Saturday, a slight drop in temperatures is expected, though it will still be relatively hot in most regions. The desert, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will remain hot, with low clouds possibly appearing and moderate northwesterly winds intermittently active.

Today's temperatures are as follows: Eastern Amman: High of 33 C, Low of 22 C, Western Amman: High of 31 C, Low of 20 C, Northern Highlands: High of 29 C, Low of 17 C, Sharah Highlands: High of 30 C, Low of 16 C, Desert Regions: High of 37 C, Low of 21 C, Plains Regions: High of 33 C, Low of 22 C, Northern Jordan Valley: High of 40 C, Low of 26 C, Southern Jordan Valley: High of 42 C, Low of 28 C, Dead Sea: High of 41 C, Low of 27 C, and Gulf of Aqaba: High of 42 C, Low of 28 C.
