Jordan sends 70-truck aid convoy to Gaza

Ammon News - The Jordan Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO) said that a new humanitarian aid convoy, consisting of 70 trucks, arrived for the people of the Gaza Strip on the 4th day of Eid al-Adha.
According to a statement issued by the JHCO, the convoy was operated by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army and the JHCO, with support from the World Food Program (WFP) and a number of partner organizations, companies and institutions.
The convoy carried food and flour, to be distributed to our people in Gaza through partner associations and organizations in the Strip.
JHCO's Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, said that the focus is mainly on food supplies due to a severe shortage of them within the sector during the Eid period.
115 trucks arrived in the Gaza Strip from last Saturday until today, carrying food supplies and flour, in addition to the bread and hot meals that were distributed.
Shibli noted that the total number of land trucks that have entered the Gaza Strip to date has reached 2,040 trucks and 53 aircraft via El-Arish Airport.
The JHCO remains open to receiving monetary donations through its designated bank account at the Union Bank of Jordan, Al-Wehdat branch.
