King delivers speech at Gaza Emergency Response Conference

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II will deliver on Tuesday Jordan's speech during the main session of the Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza conference.

According to the conference's agenda, the conference begins at 10:30 am with opening for working group sessions, where there will be a remarks by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, remarks by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh Shoukry, and remarks by UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths.

At 10:45 am, the working group sessions begin with the Working Group Session 1: “Supplies of Humanitarian Assistance into Gaza commensurate to the humanitarian needs”, then, Working Group Session 2: “Overcoming challenges to the delivery of Humanitarian assistance and the protection of civilians in Gaza”, finally with Working Group Session 3: “Early Recovery Priorities”.

Before the start of the plenary session, there will be a reception of heads of delegations by co-chairs.

At 1:30 pm, the plenary session begins with a remarks by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, then President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi of Egypt, then United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, then President Mahmoud Abbas of State of Palestine.

After the end of the keynote speeches, there will be a briefing on the working groups session outcomes by UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths.

The main session will be completed with speeches by heads of states and governments.

The main sessions will conclude at 6 pm, and a joint press conference will be held at 6:15 pm.

On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs launched a special website for the Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza conference.

The conference will be held at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Centre at the Dead Sea.
