Ammon News - Pep Guardiola “will leave” Man City when his contract expires in 2025, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the Spaniard is set to depart the Etihad after nine years in Manchester.

Guardiola, 53, signed a two-year extension to his City deal in November 2023, which is set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Now, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager could take a Jurgen Klopp-like break from management after his lengthy spell with the Premier League champions.

Guardiola has ushered in the most successful period of Man City’s history having won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League.

His influence on English football has been revered and he has often been dubbed one of the world’s best managers.

His time with City has been the longest he has ever spent as manager of a club after his four-year spell at Barcelona and his three-year stint with Bayern Munich.

Man City sit third in the Premier League table and most recently progressed to the FA Cup semi-finals with their 2-0 win against Newcastle United on 16 March.

They are next in action against Arsenal at home on Sunday (31 March) after the international break.
