Ammon News - AMMAN - (JT) His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Saturday received cables on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Karameh Battle from a number of high ranking government and senior military officials.

Several Jordanian soldiers lost their lives when Israeli forces carried out a major attack on the town of Karameh in the Jordan Valley on March 21, 1968. The Israeli raid was repelled with heavy losses to the invading troops when the army launched a heavy artillery barrage against the Israeli tanks.
