King starts tour that includes all governorates

His Majesty King Abdullah II visited the governorates of Aqaba and Maan, as part of a tour that includes all the governorates of the Kingdom, starting from Aqaba, then Maan, Karak, and Tafileh in the south.

 

Aqaba

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday February 28, 2024, visited Aqaba and said that Aqaba reflects the image of an ambitious Jordan, which is rooted in the Greater Arab Revolt’s principles of freedom, justice, and dignity.

Speaking at a meeting with local community leaders and figures in Aqaba, held at Aqaba Castle, His Majesty said developing the governorate was a dream and an idea 25 years ago, but has become a reality today with the efforts of dedicated Jordanians.

At the gathering, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the King said the source of Jordan’s strength lies in the joint efforts of all Jordanians and their belief in their ability to succeed.

Maan 

On Thursday, February 29,2024, His Majesty King Abdullah II and said that Maan is a gateway of goodwill and the launching point of the Jordanian state’s establishment.

Speaking at a meeting with local community leaders and figures in Maan held at the Founding King’s Residence and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty praised the authentic values embodied by the people of Maan in welcoming pilgrims on the Hajj route, and their keenness to help everyone in need.

The King recalled his visit to Maan 25 years ago, saying residents’ first request was building a university in the governorate.

The King said Maan is home to the largest solar energy projects in Jordan, as well as other projects, noting that the ambition for this governorate is to attract more investments, expand development, and capitalise on tourism potential in Petra.
