Anti-Vagrancy Department arrests 698 beggars in last December

Ammon News - Ministry of Social Development issued on Thursday its report for last December, which monitors the most prominent services it provided, its procedures and its oversight visits in various regions of the Kingdom.

The ministry provided cash and in-kind assistance to 10,017 families, while its directorate departments in the governorates and districts conducted 796 visits, according to the report.

It also received 8,471 transactions related to preparing social studies for the purposes of granting health insurance to poor families, and 189 transactions for the purposes of exempting treatment expenses, while it conducted 65 transactions for the purposes of settling the rights of heirs.

The report also showed that the ministry licensed 98 nurseries, while it issued a warning penalty to one nursery with the aim of improving its conditions and improving day services for children.

The ministry also placed 6 elderly people in homes for the elderly, and 28 children in residential child care homes.

The report also stated that the ministry received 85 applications for purchasing housing, 16 applications for housing maintenance for poor families, and 1,623 applications for exemption from work permit fees.

The Anti-Vagrancy Department conducted 320 Anti-Vagrancy campaigns, during which 698 beggars, male and female, were arrested.
