Thailand: Passengers discover live snake on AirAsia flight

Ammon News - A viral TikTok video recorded aboard a Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok to Phuket last weekend showed a small, slim snake slithering atop an overhead bin.

The skin-crawling midair discovery of the cold-blooded stowaway rattled the passengers, prompting those sitting closest to the uninvited traveler to swiftly move away.

Others wasted no time pulling out their phones to film the reptile aboard AirAsia Flght FD3015 as it was preparing to land at its destination Saturday, as seen in a clip shared by an online user with the handle @wannabnailssalon, which has racked up more than 3.4 million views.

The cellphone footage that has been making the rounds on social media shows a male flight attendant calmly trying to nudge the snake into an empty plastic water bottle, but the critter glides away.

The composed cabin crew member then changes tack and uses the bottle to push the snake into an empty plastic bag.

The snake was then safely stored in a cupboard until the plane landed, according to local media outlets. It was later reportedly identified as a Blanford’s bridle snake, which is a non-venomous species.

Staffers from the Phuket International Airport boarded the flight before the passengers could disembark and searched their carry-on luggage to make sure there were no other animals hitching a ride on the plane.

It was not immediately known how the snake ended up on the aircraft.

The Post reached out to AirAsia seeking comment Wednesday.

The incident has drawn comparisons to the 2006 action film “Snakes On A Plane,” in which an assassin releases a crate of venomous snakes on a flight in a bid to kill a trial witness being transported by an FBI agent played by Samuel L. Jackson, who utters the immortal line: “I’ve had it with these moherf—ing snakes on this mother—ing plane!”
