Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, said Sunday that Israel is defying the world, violating international law, and committing war crimes in its ongoing war on the besieged Gaza Strip, calling on the United States to exert greater pressure on Israel.

Safadi expected, during his participation as a keynote speaker in the opening session of the 21st edition of the Doha Forum under the title “What now for the Middle East,” that Israel would focus on goals beyond its declared goals for the war in Gaza.

The war in Gaza can be described as a systematic effort to empty the Gaza Strip of its population, Safadi stated, adding that the
Israeli occupation policy insists on continuing to expel the people of Gaza from the Strip.

He also talked about the efforts made to stop the raging war on Gaza, the suffering and humanitarian catastrophe it is producing, and the need to protect civilians, stressing the need for Israel to comply with the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.
