His Majesty King Abdullah II held talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Tuesday, in continuation of the meetings His Majesty is conducting on a European tour to mobilize an international position to stop the war in Gaza, including UK, Germany, Italy and France.

His Majesty during a press conference with Scholz called for collective action to end the tragic and extremely dangerous situation in Gaza, adding, "We meet today in very difficult times. We have lost thousands of innocent civilian lives, both Palestinians and Israelis."

His Majesty pointed out that more people are at risk, as hundreds of thousands in Gaza cannot access food, water, electricity, and other basic services , stressing that this is unacceptable at all levels, legally and humanitarianly.

This year is already considered the bloodiest for Palestinians and Israelis in recent memory, the King said, adding things will get worse unless we stop this war and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing, calling on everyone to stop it.

The King stressed that everyone must stand against all forms of violence and with its victims, regardless of their identity, nationality or religion.

His Majesty called for the immediate provision of humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians, stressing that international humanitarian law and common humanitarian values are clear regarding the commitment to protect civilians and in condemning the targeting of innocent people.

"We condemn the killing of civilians on both sides, and the whole world must do so," the King added.

His Majesty stressed that the way forward requires political solutions, not just security solutions.

"The German role is crucial for the stability of the region, your support for Jordan has been unwavering, and over the past 70 years of diplomatic relations, we have built an unshakable foundation of exemplary cooperation," the King told Scholz.

His Majesty praised the leadership role played by Germany in supporting communities hosting refugees.
