Ammon News - Northern Military Zone on Sunday evening thwarted an attempt to smuggle quantity of drugs into the country coming from Syria, according to a Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army source.

The source said that the Border Guard forces, after receiving intelligence information indicating a smuggling operation, closed the area from which the smuggling was to be carried out, indicating that after searching and surveying the area, a quantity of narcotic substances was found stored inside a plastic shell, and the seized items were transferred to the competent authorities.

The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army will use full force against any threat to the borders and prevent anyone tempted from tampering with Jordanian national security, the source confirmed.
