Ammon News - British foreign minister James Cleverly said that his country considers Jordan one of the closest friendly countries throughout history and a good ally as well, he also announced the UK will provide Jordan with 30 new funds of $30 million for Syrian refugees.

" The embodiment of Jordanian-British relations came at all levels, and our relations in defense and security are strong", Cleverly added during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Amman, Thursday.

He stressed that Jordan plays an important role as a party to the regional peace industry, expressing his happiness that the UK is supportive of Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah II in particular in taking measures with attempts at regional improvement and protecting everyone who lives in Jordan.

For his part, AM Ayman Safadi, said that the Kingdom is aware of the difficult challenges facing efforts to re-launch real negotiations to advance towards a two-state solution, but all illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution must be stopped.

Safadi noted that the illegal Israeli measures include settlement and its expansion into the Palestinian territories and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes, stressing the danger of continuing provocative actions in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Haram Al-Sharif.

He added that Jordan condemned the major incursions and provocations that took place Thursday, in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the practice of rituals rejected by the international community.

Safadi stressed that peace is a strategic choice and provocations undermine the two-state solution.

He pointed to "the burdens borne by the country as a result of hosting large numbers of refugees and the decline in international support for Syrian refugees," warning that Jordan has exceeded its absorptive capacity, and we will not be able to continue providing the necessary services to provide refugees with a decent life if the international community assumes its responsibility.
