Amman hosts digital currency conference this week

Ammon News - An international conference titled: the Future of Digital Currency and Digital Transformation, opens Wednesday with wide participation by various sectors, including banks, the Central Bank of Jordan and information technology firms.

The conference will shed light on the future of digital currencies and digital transformation, and the development it is witnessing, learn about payment methods and electronic wallets, discuss the impact of inflation on global economies and various investment aspects, said Mohammad Zghoul, head of the Preparatory Committee.

It will also tackle the information technology sector and the quest that entrepreneurship becomes a leading sector in the region, the future of interest rates as a key monetary policy tool, the continued pegging of the dinar to the dollar and its impact on various economic aspects, such as inflation, and stud the legal and legislative aspects of digital transformation, he said.

Over two days, international and local experts will discuss various regional and global economic issues, he said, stressing the conference is a venue for investors to discuss cooperation among them and learn about investment opportunities in Jordan, he said.

Zghoul said he hoped the conference would help spur the local economic activity given economic developments Jordan is witnessing, foremost of which is the economic modernization vision launched by His Majesty the King last year, a key part of which is digital transformation.
