Ammon News - The Senate approved on Sunday a draft law ratifying a loan agreement with Canada, under which the North American country provides some JD63 million (120 million Canadian dollars) in support for the Jordanian vocational education system.
Approved during a session led by Senate President Faisal Fayez and attended by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, the loan is to bolster the government's strategic plan for vocational education reform, particularly finances for workshop laboratory renovations and vocational school maintenance as well as purchasing new equipment.
The Jordanian and Canadian governments signed a soft loan agreement last January on the sidelines of the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Canada.
