Ammon News - Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Qaisi, on Wednesday held talks with several counterparts and officials participating in the Berlin International Tourism Bourse (ITB Berlin).
In a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Issa, Qaisi discussed the executive program for joint tourism cooperation and promotion, extending an invitation to Egyptian professionals interested in travel and tourism to visit Jordan.
The two officials affirmed joint coordination with regard to registering their historical sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
In a separate meeting, Qaisi discussed tourism-related topics with Abdullah bin Touq, Chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority and Minister of Economy of the UAE, in particular, the promotion of both nations as a common travel destination for international travelers, particularly those from China, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Latin America.
He indicated that Jordan has significant experience in archaeological excavations, restoration, maintenance, and site management, pointing out that an agreement will be signed between Jordan and the UAE to share expertise in the fields of training and statistics.
On a related note, the minister spoke with the Bahraini Minister of Tourism, Fatima Al Sairafi, on measures to enhance collaboration in the tourism industry.
Additionally, Qaisi and CEO of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, spoke about the promotion of Qatari investments in Jordanian tourism projects as well as bilateral tourism ties.
