Ammon News - Qatar's imports of Jordanian dates totaled more than 111 tons in 2022, signaling an increase of 11 percent, compared to 100 tons imported in 2021, according to data released Thursday on the Qatari Planning and Statistics Authority's website.
The latest study by Qatar's Industrial Development Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry revealed that Qatar produces about 20 percent of its date needs and imports the remaining 80 percent mainly from Jordan, Kuwait, Iran, Oman, Iraq and the United States of America. Jordan's Medjool dates are the most in-demand in Qatari markets.
