Jordan, Greece explore cooperation on tourism, heritage sites protection

Ammon News - Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez and the Greek Minister of Culture and Sports, Lina Mendoni, Wednesday held talks in Amman on increasing bilateral cooperation on tourism, protecting and rehabilitating antiquities, website development and museum management.

Fayez and Mendoni discussed cooperation in classifying replica artifacts through workshops focused on the issue.

Fayez said the tourism sector in Jordan possesses "great expertise," noting the importance of exchanging experiences in tourism.

He added that enhancing tourism between the two countries and increasing the number of Greek tourists in Jordan is "important."

Mendoni briefed Fayez about the expertise of the Greek side in the area of protecting, maintaining and rehabilitating heritage sites, adding that she would offer Jordan's Department of Antiquities three publications of books published by a Greek archaeologist on Jordan in English.
