Ammon News - Under Royal directives, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Issawi, head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of His Majesty's Initiatives, on Thursday attended the launching ceremony of the training-for-employment initiative in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, which aims in its first phase to train and employ 25 youth in Jordan's central region.

The launching ceremony, which took place at the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC), in the presence of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh, saw signing two agreements between Arab Bank, as a financier and employer, and Broccoli for Capacity Building, as the supervising authority on implementing the initiative.

Agreements with seven companies from the private sector, which would employ the trained young graduates of the ICT sector, were also inked.

The initiative targets unemployed ICT alumni after completing 144 hour- training in the required skills, in addition to 3-month practical training in the seven companies, which are scheduled to employ youth in the pre-announced job opportunities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Issawi said this initiative in the ICT sector is in line with Royal vision, as His Majesty King Abdullah II attaches great importance to this business, as a vital industry and a tool for modernizing economic and social life, accessing labor market and expanding the base youth's participation in innovative projects.

This sector is a way for entrepreneurship to employ young people's skills to present their entrepreneurial projects, which will "positively" reflect on achieving a better future for them, Issawi added.
