Senate president receives anti-graft body's annual report

Ammon News - President of the Senate Faisal Fayez on Wednesday received a copy of the 2021 annual report of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC).

During a meeting with the IACC Chairman Muhannad Hijazi, Fayez underscored focusing on witness protection in corruption cases to encourage people to report any suspicion of corruption.

He urged increasing efforts to improve the IACC's regulatory tools and review international reports to redress notes that could advance Jordan on global indicators related to integrity and combating administrative and financial corruption.

For his part, Hijazi briefed Fayez on the IACC's achievements listed in the report, including money recovered from corruption cases.

The IACC launched the National Integrity Index to measure institutions' adherence to integrity and anti-corruption standards, he noted, pointing to a master's degree and diploma in governance and anti-corruption initiated by the IACC in cooperation with the University of Jordan.
