Jordan votes in favour of UN resolution on Mediterranean security

Ammon News - Jordan voted on Friday in favour of a draft resolution before the First Committee of the UN General Assembly on strengthening security and cooperation in the Mediterranean region.

The resolution, submitted by Jordan with a group of other countries, affirms that "security in the Mediterranean region is closely linked to the security of Europe and to international peace and security."

The resolution received 172 in favour votes without opposition, with Israel and the U.S. abstaining.
