PM receives anti-graft body's annual report

Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday received a copy of the 2021 annual report of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC).
During a meeting with the IACC's Chairman Muhannad Hijazi, the premier underlined the government's commitment to combating corruption and preserving public funds from transgressions.
Khasawneh stated that the government is also fully committed to cooperating with the Commission in reinforcing and boosting the national integrity system to put the report's recommendations into action.
Pointing to the legal cohesion of the IACC's cases that were referred to the judiciary, he said the success rate of investigations on such cases stood at 83 percent.
Hijazi, for his part, said that public money recovered in 2021 amounted to more than JD141 million, of which 40 million were directly retrieved by the IACC, while the other 101 million were the result of court settlements.
He pointed to the IACC's key role in spreading integrity awareness, implementing its standards, and ensuring the rule of law.
