Ammon News - Health Minister Firas Hawari met with a delegation from the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) on Wednesday to discuss ways to improve diabetes and noncommunicable disease prevention in Jordan's most vulnerable communities, particularly refugees.

During the meeting, which was attended by Vice-chair of WDF's Board Tina Abild Olesen, the minister briefed the delegates on Jordan's diabetes and noncommunicable disease management challenges, which stem from a lack of awareness.

He emphasized the importance of identifying and collecting key performance indicators for patient care, as well as the continuous development of clinical guidelines.

Olesen applauded the Ministry of Health's commitment to combating non-communicable diseases in Jordan with an integrated strategy for the benefit of both Jordanians and refugees.
