Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Monday welcomed a delegation from the Norwegian Defense University College's (NDUC) Senior Executive Course.

The delegation included Norwegian parliamentarians, representatives from the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Transport, Justice, Energy, and Health, as well as members of the country's armed forces and media.

During the meeting, Safadi underlined the strong ties between Jordan and Noway that paved the way for cooperation and high-level coordination on regional challenges.

He pointed to His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts to maintain security and stability, address regional crises, boost regional cooperation and achieve a just and comprehensive peace through the two-state solution.

Safadi commended Norway's key role in supporting the Palestinian economy through heading the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) for the coordination of international aid to the Palestinian people.

He also thanked Jordan for receiving refugees, noting the pressure and heavy burden they pose on the Kingdom and dwindling international aid.

Norway this year pledged $124 million for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) spread over four years. During the Sixth Brussels Conference held this year, Norway also pledged $160 million for Syria refugees and host countries in the region.
